Roscoe M. Clem services Monday
Services for Roscoe M. Clem, 71, 400 S. 14th st., who died yesterday will be Monday 11 a.m., at the Carl Edmonds Funeral home.
Mr. Clem died Thursday, May 9, at 5:30 p.m. in Porter memorial hospital after an illness of several years. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Officiating at the funeral will be the Rev. John Washler of the Assembly of God church, Valpariso. Burial will be in Highland cemetery, South Bend.
A retired operating engineer in construction work, Mr. Clem lived here most of his life. He was born, May 20, 1896, in Walkerton, Ind., the son of George and Clara (Ball) Clem. In Valparaiso, July 5, 1931, he married Marie Rintz, who survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, two sons, 40 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. Dorothy Wright, Mrs. Betty Schultz, Mrs. Marjorie Schilla, Mrs. Darlene Hart, Mrs. Dolly Coppes, all of Chesterton; and the sons are Durwood of Chesterton and Delbert of Portage.
He also leaves a brother Fred of Florida, and a sister Mrs. Lucille Earles, Berrien Springs, Mich. Mr. Clem was a 40-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, and belonged the Moose lodge of Valparaiso.
