Byrl L. Sharples services tomorrow

Services for Byrl L. Sharples, 70, 340 Indiana st., Porter, will be tomorrow, 2 p.m., at the White Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to time of services tomorrow.

Mr. Sharples died Saturday, July 8, at 5:15 p.m. at home. He had been in ill health for a long time. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church who pastor, the Rev Donald Garvue, will officiate at he funeral. Burial will be in Chesterton cemetery.

Retired from the Sheet and Tin mill of U.S. Steel where he had been a maintenance man, Mr. Sharples served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

He was born in LaPorte, Feb. 12, 1908, the son of Paul D. and Edna (Stewig) Sharples, and moved here when he was eight years old. In Porter, on July 28, 1942, he married Valeria M. Johnson, who survives.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Neville (Marilyn) of Michigan City; three grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Herbert Anderson (Roena) or Chesterton.
